By having the upscaled pixels (here its 6times, the pattern crosses them at 3 pixels each to disrupt the eye). This is not yet perfect of course, but create a more blurry look I think that lets the straight pixels smooth out.

one more point id like to make is that kris tends to keep his right arm tucked when he crosses his arms- either he's left handed (which is unlikely because he pushes his glasses up unconnsciously w his right) or hes actively trying to hide his scar
