Sad to hear of the passing of Richard Williams. Reading the animators survival kit in foundation art started me off on an amazing artistic journey, one which I'm still navigating and learning from as an animator. RIP Mr Williams, thank you for helping me get a hang of things.

Sad to learn of the passing of Richard Williams (1933-2019) today. His work on ROGER RABBIT made me fall in love with animation, his book THE ANIMATOR’S SURVIVAL KIT made me understand it.
RIP Richard Williams. Thank you for the decades of wonderful animation. And thank you for the timeless lessons collected in The Animator's Survival Kit that will continue to inform and inspire animators all over the world for generations to come. Your will lives on in all of us.
The animators survival kit was what caused animation principles to “click” for me for the first time. I wouldn’t be the artist I am today without it. I can not express my gratitude enough. Rest In Peace Richard Williams.

Richard Williams was a master of his craft. His work on Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and The Thief and the Cobbler are phenomenal examples of what animation can be. Thank you, Richard, for all of your work and for passing down your knowledge in The Animator's Survival Kit.
My goodness what a legacy! Creating arguably the best resource for Animators out there, The Animator’s Survival Kit, as well as working on some cracking films. RIP Richard Williams...
However he never waived in his passion for animation, eventually releasing The Animator's Survival Kit. This book became the bible for animators everywhere, and remains essential and influential to this day.
Definitely have a read of the legendary Animator's Survival Kit if you are a aspiring animator, it's what I still read to this day!
Today I read the great @RWAnimator passed away. He literally wrote the book on how to animate with personality, believability and weight. The Animator's Survival Kit was a book that helped me get my own career off the ground. Thanks for everything, Richard!
