Aiming for middle ground, a bridge between what I've learned, and what I did. I think it's wonderful to learn using the stronger colours, gives you a good impression where the 'natural' colours are on the wheel!

Got inspiration from Dusk, since he preferred the default style!

I started in red, but then I ended up in red-orange. Whooops.

I did two pictures to contrast my progress side-by-side, one I did with the normal 'waking up in the morning, feeling default' and one 'oh wait I'm doing colour theory work again!'

Re-scaled the idle Mars sprite from what was a 32x32 to a 64x64. I definitely like this larger iteration as it shows more of her design, so I think this will become her new default, even if animating it will take more work.

I figured I won’t get that style using my usual basic brushes, so I exported this from using SAI to my Krita software. Krita has lots of default faux trad- digital media brushes I really fancy so I kinda went wild on it 😅 hope my workflow helped a little bit! ☺️
