this is just a mock-up, but i wanted to test an easy style to do for comics. scratchy lines with some decent shading - not so simple but not so complex. enough to easily do a page or two. would something like this be visually appealing?

The writer/artist debate is silly. One is replaceable while the other is wildly important to a visual medium.
Take for instance the final art (from an artist) to a cover vs the the layout that I, a writer, cobbled together.

Hair, face, and body type should define the character for me, allowing them to be recognizable in a range of different outfits, even if they have a set style.
Bikko and Kino would be some of my faves.
