Gino D'Achille's artwork caught my eye, which shouldn't surprise anyone who follows me, but it took a bit of searching to find the book. A sequel to H. Rider Haggard's "She" intrigues me. In other words, the cover did it's job by catching my eye & piquing my interest.

Russian artist Andrey Tarusov caused a furor with his art for the Russian space agency's 2020 pin-up calendar. All I can say is I love the pulp aesthetic Tarusov brought to the artwork, and would kill (figuratively) to see his artwork covering one of my books.

1950s British comic book and pulp artist Ron Turner is new to me, as is the magazine whose cover he painted. The cover has all the expected sci-fi pulp tropes except a spacebabe & it would definitely catch my eye. I particularly like how space becomes a pointing hand.

I didn't post yesterday, so here are 2 Greg Hildebrandt pin-ups with science fiction themes. Alas, neither one ever graced a book or magazine cover. But if they had, I believe I'd have bought that book or magazine. Because sometimes all you need is a great cover.

Robert Fuqua painted this cover for the Feb '40 issue, and it's quite good. Why invent a new bug-eyed monster when an enlarged Earth spider is this horrific? Add a beautiful babe in danger, a stalwart hero, set it on Mars, and you have makings of a grand adventure!

I don't know what "Vulcan's Dolls" is about, but Earle Bergey's gorgeous cover art made me want to read the story. Of note: contrary to modern proclamations that women weren't welcome before the '60s, the 2 top authors listed are women.
