1951年のこの日、ラジオ16社に民間放送初の予備免許が与えられた。これを記念し、日本民間放送連盟が1968年にこの日を「放送広告の日（現・民放の日）」と定めた。民間放送の取り組みをPRして、視聴者・聴取者に民間放送への理解を深めてもらうことが目的。

Artist Spotlight 🔦 Basil Blackshaw.
Blackshaw was born in Co. Antrim and studied at the Belfast College of Art from 1948 to 1951. In his year of graduation he won a travelling scholarship which enabled him to spend a year in Paris. He has exhibited regularly since 1952.
