Thanks! Aside from the individual colors for the different body parts on different layers, I mostly worked it in sections. I was trying out blurring for focus points so this isn't how I normally work but it worked out XD

a simple way to draw plants is to break them down into shapes and build up detail with values. Use different layers if you fear messing up. If you are drawing a LOT of plants, break it into sections so as to not overwhelm yourself.
