another thing I really liked is how they both match their respective game logos colour wise. And yeah, they usually have these specific in their normal outfits as well, but it just really fits with the logos on top so i think it might have been deliberate

I wouldn't mind the return of the old "halo" as a separate node from point density, but that works in EEVEE, drawbacks like not casting light on other objects could be remedied with the use of a point light. The look of it really fits with stylized 3D imo.
