I think a lot of people forget that daisy has been here sense the 80’s, hell before yoshi was ever created and most of the other characters too. It just really sucks she doesn’t get to do more, She’s my favorite for many reasons

maybe she was given the responsibility of waiting for someone like mario her whole life (perhaps by her parents or more specifically her father king toadstool, who in most depictions of the comics, manga and instructional manuals was actually shown to be alive.)

i don’t think its a retcon. mario and luigi were born in a land in the sky (presumably like most babies in the mario universe) and delivered to the mushroom kingdom TWICE (even in the original yoshi’s island which turned out to be a mistake)
