I take a lot of inspiration from vintage advertisements, posters, illustrations, etc. - specifically art nouveau era, Victorian, various other decades. It's pushed my art into a semi-realistic illustration style. I'm still trying to figure out how to apply that to my HB art.

Thanks! I play with a lot of chalky texture and 'realistic' brushes. There are lots of great free ones around- as an example I painted a quick lil Ragdoll using one of Aaron Griffin's free brushes. I also recommend loading them as mixer brushes to get that nice smudge effect 😊👍

8. I tend to do more slice of life when it comes to dr ocs! I do have some fantasy stories but they still tend to be more realistic fantasy/ real life with elements of the supernatural! But I still do have some high fantasy designs

ok maybe my art *has* improved in the past years, depending on how you measure "improvement" - here's a sketch of dahlia from august 2020 that I never posted. it's more detailed and "realistic" than the recent one, but I wanted to loosen up my art again, and succeeded in that!
