Leo bumps into Balan and Emma, who explain that Lance is tricking him into thinking he's on the "right side" when he isn't. Later on in the story, after everyone returns home we learn that Balan and Lance are one in the same.
I’ll continue more later, just know these are my favorite characters. (Also Keebo and Gonta are here) A lot of them are important in the story, so maybe that’s why, but I loved them before they really showed that so probably not.
