30年以上前になるが当時の僕はWRは8:30～Heavy Weatherで満足してた。友人の部屋で初めて本作を聴いた時、これってプログレじゃないの？WRか？と。
ECMのTerje Rypdal, John Abercrombie 等と共通した音響空間。Miroslav Vitousのクラシカル志向が結晶化したんだろうな。
WEATHER REPORT『Sweetnighter』
Zawinul, Shorter, Vitousのトリオ主導ラスト作。この後BsにAlphonso Johnsonが加わってモロにプログレ系JazzRockへ…と、随分経ってから知った。僕のWRに対するイメージは、やっぱり初期は弱いなぁ…と思って久々に聴き直したら、これはいいや♪となった73年作。
