Another interesting aspect is that the Japanese cover of Dynamite Deka clearly shows a character that looks a lot like Bruce Willis, although the game is not supposed to be related to Die Hard.
Die Hard Arcade on the other hand... has this guy.

Further insight into the process- sketch and flat colour. Scraps probably changed the most, making him softer and rounder and also changing his plastic-bag parachute to a fabric backpack as the collection aspect was important. The first pose lacked energy, so I changed it!!

I hate to ask directly, but I've been trying to figure this out for a week now. How the heck do I fix it, because looking up "RetroArch stretchy screen" just brings up stuff about widescreens and aspect ratios, which isn't helpful.
