Cecil Umbra!

Local bogeyman that loves stealing neat things, mimics, and the occult. He started off as a D&D character but now I invested all my love into him.

He also loves to dress to impress. Regardless of his form he will always use he/him pronouns.,

Chugging away at portfolio work as well as a special project, so thought I’d share a snippet of that! Working on style mimics for various shows, using my girl Garcie as a subject. Here’s the 3 completed styles so far! (First is my usual style for her) 👩🏽‍🍳💗🦆

Pot Mimics are born from eggs deposited into empty ceramic pots. Much like a turtle from it's shell, they can't be removed without fatal consequences, and it's in their best interest to keep it in good shape.

Pot Mimics are mollusk-like monsters that sneak their way into human kitchens and storerooms and slowly empty out every other container around them. They're not malicious... they just lack manners.

I felt I needed to illustrate what Miranda's main magical discipline is a bit more. (Temporary) Mimics!

Man, I did these in 2014 just based on a loose idea I had. The saturated version of the background color ended up becoming my brand. I still love these and should revisit them. I made them in Corel paint and haven't found a program that mimics oils well enough since.

I decided to have a go at one of my old art styles! I really enjoy this type of line art where I don’t take my pen off for an entire section, it creates this flow that mimics depth. Isn’t it cool looking!? I loved Asahi’s sweater so I slapped one onto a 3rd year Shoyo~~ ✨

...oh shoot, you said digital art.
This digital piece mimics my traditional techniques.
I learned:
Color on a multiply layer (img 1) is subject to the background, like markers, only digital.
Limited opacity on a normal layer (applied in img 2) lets select details pop.

Thank you again for your fabulous guest art!

This is the colour edit I did which mimics victorian postcard printing colours. The handwritten note was done with my shaky calligraphy skills!

(This version was printed on the back of ewe's postcards)
