Caught up with HnK. It caught me off guard with the direction the story went, but I absolutely loved it. Phos is truly one of the most tragic characters in manga. I've been handing them out like candy lately but that's because I've been eating good, HnK is another 10.

Apparently, Omata Shinichi's largest contribuition at SHAFT, was his work on Arakawa Under the Bridge as storyboarder (1,2,5,11,13,18,22) and episode director (2,11,15,22) under Yukihiro Miyamoto's direction. Both worked together in Hidamari too.

more progress w rendering.. currently my process is ambient color overlay + basic shadows multiply, merge those w base colors and then start painting w direct color. now that i have a better idea of color direction i feel like it's more enjoyable hehe
