Probably an ignorant question, but here goes: what's the point of learning perspective, when you have a program where you can set up some boxes, pose a dummy, and then paint over that? Seems like learning the abacus, when you have a calculator.

I had problems with the character perspective in multi-character illustrations, but I found a way to quickly deal with it. I just downloaded the free 3d model and placed it in Blender where characters should be located. Looks messy but it was super helpful!

I love how anyone can play professional karuta, which means the narrative of Chihayafuru can shift perspective between all types of genders and age groups. It was extremely refreshing! The story felt rich and multifaceted because of it.
