Idk if it’s just me but I love test some crops after I finish something, like zoom in and zoom out and u have new compositions and feelings. Some crops here :)

sometimes this became better than the principal art, that’s life :P

There's just something about the intensity and scale here. I've always admired how Link squares up with tremendous evils, and the composition of this one really embodies that. Funny story, I ripped this exact pic from our old prima guide and cherished it lol

Of course yo!! I recommend looking into the two-thirds rule and the golden ratio, since the latter builds into the former:
With the focus of your composition in one of the 4 corners, use different components (color, line weight, etc) to build towards that focal point!

My love of background art probs started when I was 14 and played Bioshock for the first time. I was OBSESSED w/ the design of the place. That first view you get of Rapture is such an amazing moment storytelling/composition wise. Like every level I would just stare for 20 minutes.
