The bladderhorn from Expedition while not my favorite (the jelly sea conceit is just too cool, after that I like the arrowtongue a lot though as a design) was clearly a major inspiration for me. The “bladders” when inflated look like lobes from my own sapient alien

Drew the mask too wide so I need to narrow it then it's onto lineart.

Easily one of my favourite character designs. Masks are too cool.
