Julian Stanczak (1928-2017) was another student of Josef Albers, studying art at Yale after graduating from the Cleveland School of Art in 1954. The genre itself took its name from Stanczak’s 1964 solo exhibition “Optical Paintings” in NYC.
This week’s piece in our collaboration with @SDMA is “Dead Bird”, a 1944 oil by the Guatemalan-Mexican artist, Carlos Mérida, one of the great Latin-American masters of abstraction. https://t.co/St1x9McZje

It’s Mermay! I saw a washed up shark on the beach and I never seen that species before and after looking it up I found it was a ‘spurdog shark’. A venomous shark! 8O It has two fins with spurs that can inject venom.
So of COURSE I had to draw one as a mermaid.
This is Blank’s signature move Scattershot Punch. To the untrained eye he is doing a single devastating blow and in some cases he looks as if he never even left his stance, but really he hits 4-5 times. Doing this takes a lot of effort so afterwards he’s usually done.
loved creating this #AdobeColoringBook page for this week’s theme of Outer Space! ✨ here’s a time lapse of the page coming to life, and a link where you can download it and color it in yourself! https://t.co/ZXSZXxhTfb 💫 @Adobe #adobepartner #stayinstayinspired

This week’s challenge is to redraw something that I did in the past, and I found this watercolour rainbow girl from 2017. I am not sure if I am better in colours but I do see the improvement and I hope to improve more in the future!!
