Subdued tones are often the hardest to make look good, since you have to put in much more nuance to make them work, everything needs to be carefully arranged. Not sure how will it worked though, always learning. Done in

Montoulieu, France. First plein air for a while and of course I ruined it by accidentally dropping it. It of course landed facing down on grass and dirt. I'm not too happy about it! Oh well. At least I took these pictures before that happened.

Waves and water are so difficult. Originally wasn’t very happy with this one (and it was so difficult to paint), but I like how it holds up when viewed from a distance/zoomed out!
