Same here. Looking into it I realize now that when I was younger I had the “Middle Earth: the World of Tolkien Illustrated” by David Wenzel. I still have what is left of that book as it was read until it fell apart. David is an amazing artist.

A year ago, commissioned to draw anything Tolkien for me, and I chose the scene of Bilbo Baggins reading a book to little Frodo. I love the image of Bilbo lovingly sharing tales and stories to Frodo, who had lost his parents.

Fun Fact: The downfall of Númenor actually started out as an attempt by to write a time-travel story (spurred on by C.S. Lewis, who would go on to write a space-travel story).
