Thank you so much to @louisefletcher_art for inviting me into her welcoming Art Tribe group to talk about my creative processes. Here is a section of the watercolour demo we did together exploring fluidity, granulation , transparency and opacity- and al… https://t.co/5WbY1koXLf
I couldn't resist not coloring it, I shouldn't have lowered the opacity permanently, yet here we are.
Watch me escort the lads and the ladies in roller skates 😳✨

My digital drawing of my beautiful OC Cosmic Sapphire. tried to draw a different pose but I did something new on digital if you look at the star & moon I attempt to do a glowing not bad but not perfect so I decreased the percent of opacity, still can't do galaxy style. 🌌🌠
@a__potato_ A lot of artists have different ways to go about it. I personally paint with just one angled rectangular brush with some texture on it, using only one color and having low opacity and flow (20% for both).
This is painted over a silhouette so I don't need to shade shadows.
@PenAsteria - merge everything on a separate layer
- set to Hard Light and 50% opacity (or less)
- play with brightness and blur on that layer
This helps me make colors more prominent and add soft shining.
I abuse it every single time.
All my enthusiasm depleted - hence I haven't been happy with any Art Fight attempt I have been drawing. Trying to get my yeet back. Ellie and Honcho doing the shaka sign. Opacity reduced for color testing and it always looks better to me. #pqtart #mmstaffarea #under300gang
@ainara_trindel I use blending layers. For shading, I usually find a color, based on the color of the lighting in the environment I’m drawing them in, shade, then set that layer to multiply and adjust the opacity accordingly. Same with lighting effects but set to glow or overlay
✅ Fill in the base color
✅ make necessary adjustments (pinutulan ko lng ng buhok)
✅ COLOR UNDER THE OUTLINE not over it UNDER UNDER

recently been lurking thru twt to support yall bc im still too busy with ol classes (:<) and comms (yey!) for ocs but lemme show u what i fished from lost wips archive: 90s thom yorke !
this is v old (damn basic round opacity brush days) twas a treat remembering this exists HAHA
testing out a new brush n i really like it... but i should just make the colours lighter instead of reducing opacity
For this piece, I tried mimicking the coloring and shading style of another artist I follow, and despite how hard it was and how shitty the mimic was, it was SUPER fun to see how all the colors would mix together when they all had like 50% opacity. Glow effect added for fun.
🖤 30 sec timelapse + notes:
- shaded using pink tones on multiply (~30 - 42% opacity)
- tetradic color harmony on procreate has become my art bff for shading :,)
- brushes: peppermint (sketch, modified), SAI Ink, SAI Lineart / Shading (found on procreate forum)
