A lot of artists have different ways to go about it. I personally paint with just one angled rectangular brush with some texture on it, using only one color and having low opacity and flow (20% for both).

This is painted over a silhouette so I don't need to shade shadows.

- merge everything on a separate layer
- set to Hard Light and 50% opacity (or less)
- play with brightness and blur on that layer
This helps me make colors more prominent and add soft shining.
I abuse it every single time.

All my enthusiasm depleted - hence I haven't been happy with any Art Fight attempt I have been drawing. Trying to get my yeet back. Ellie and Honcho doing the shaka sign. Opacity reduced for color testing and it always looks better to me.

Guess who figured out hard round binary brush + pressure opacity exists

I use blending layers. For shading, I usually find a color, based on the color of the lighting in the environment I’m drawing them in, shade, then set that layer to multiply and adjust the opacity accordingly. Same with lighting effects but set to glow or overlay

✅ Fill in the base color
✅ make necessary adjustments (pinutulan ko lng ng buhok)

I drew this in paint lmao

the marker brush is fun to use for the opacity it has, but it sucks that the brush sizes are set and that the smallest size ain't small enough for detail work

Change some opacity settings after watched tutorials video and background as well

I wanna experiment with bright colored shading but cant decide which way to have it facing. Id probably lower opacity too idk...

For this piece, I tried mimicking the coloring and shading style of another artist I follow, and despite how hard it was and how shitty the mimic was, it was SUPER fun to see how all the colors would mix together when they all had like 50% opacity. Glow effect added for fun.

🖤 30 sec timelapse + notes:

- shaded using pink tones on multiply (~30 - 42% opacity)
- tetradic color harmony on procreate has become my art bff for shading :,)
- brushes: peppermint (sketch, modified), SAI Ink, SAI Lineart / Shading (found on procreate forum)

Tinggal masking tapi males banget malah pengen main opacity aja rasanya

Might been better without the suns face or a lower opacity version of it idk

Drawing of a Oc names Haze always dresses in white. My last eat piece literally finished it early this morning. Playing around with gradients and opacity to get different effects.
