Based on my lqrt, I tried my hand at the , but kept in mind the target demographic and the typical anime style from the time the book was released. I also mimicked colored pencil and bleeding marker on cheap paper (things kids would have access to).

Playing around with Hellboy analogues just for fun. Circled a concept but couldn’t quite make it come together. Also, experimenting with blending and layering tones of grey Copics.
