Made some good progress on this today, Cleaned up the character as well as adding some more layering elements to the foreground to add some depth. Really liking how it's coming together and I thing I'm ready for the final stretch of rendering.

2D Exercise in which I was supposed to use color to convey depth. One is supposed to flatten out the design by “pitting hierarchical order against spatial order”. I know I achieved depth using color in both instances but I have no idea if I fulfilled that last thing

Btw here is the cloud sea shader I worked on. Between a realistic cloud (3d perlin noise) and a stylized one. I lerp between colors depending on depth and density of the raymarch in the noise.
