Funnily enough this actually reminds me of a webcomic called Spinnerette. One main character is Marilyn Seong, aka Mecha Maid. She has ALS but can do her hero work thanks to her knowledge in robotics that let's her alter her nerves as well as using tech in general to fight https://t.co/6MDUz405bW

Roxie hasn't needed much changes over time, mainly just costume stuff. ATLAS, however... I think this is his 5th or 6th iteration. Robots sure ain't easy to design, lemme tell ya.
