Day 25 of #31DayArtist! Cold/warm shadows. Decided to try out some stylistic blue core shadows. I keep wondering if I should bring the blue into the softer shadows or not

Day 21 of #31DayArtist color contrast! LOVE IT!!! Decided to go green x red and wowie yes please. This is giving me alien. It's giving me orc. It's giving me everything I want
Day 17 of #31DayArtist! Desaturated colors. I think this turned out amazing! I'm getting vampire with blushed skin vibes
Day 16 of #31DayArtist! Saturated colors. I usually go with less saturated highlights and mid tones, so this was a fun challenge
#31DayArtist day 14. Lineart with no sketch! The feet are looking a bit chonky, but I'm proud I managed to get the shapes down without 2 hours of scribbling

Day 12 of #31DayArtist ! Contour hatching. At this point hatching no longer is feeling hard, but I don't think my brush works well for it lol. I'm happy with this exercise despite the style feeling so foreign to me.

day 7 of #31DayArtist sketching from imagination! For me this is the most intimidating prompt, even tho I draw without reference all the time. But trying to recreate stuff you've been practicing is hard!
day 6 of #31DayArtist textures! I think adding textures to your sketches is so important, it helps map out the shading and rendering for later on

HAPPY SPOOKY SEASON! I'm getting in the spirits by doing the scariest thing an artist can do: a month long challenge.
Join me either for the whole month or pick and chose days that seem fun! Remember to use the tag #31DayArtist if you partake!
One of my fave pieces from #31DayArtist 2020. Trying to make the fish/boy the focus by using vague blobs everywhere else.
Day 22 of #31DayArtist Values! I love values, but they often get lost when I try to do fancy colors, so I dialed it back to unsaturated colors. I like to swatch the colors to make sure my lightest darks are darker than my darkest lights
Day 16 & 17 of #31DayArtist saturated and desaturated colors! I like doing both prompts at once and compare the results. The desaturated one looks much warmer despite using the same colors!
Day 12 of #31DayArtist! Contour hatching! I don't think I got much contour here, but I'm very happy with the shape design!
Day 10 of #31DayArtist! Cross hatching! I decided to shade an old piece and it helped me stay motivated through out the process. I'm seeing lots of improvements from last year
Day 9 of #31DayArtist Line weight! A great way to improve your line work, I love pairing it up with gesture. ref by @SenshiStock
Day 5 of #31DayArtist Long Strokes! Trying to not use scribbly short strokes can be really hard sometimes, so I look for references that have long flowing lines. The perspective was super fun! Ref by @JookPub
Day 4 of #31DayArtist! Negative space! I love using negative space to look for anatomy mistakes. It helped me see that the left shoulder was off by a lot and made it easy to fix! Ref by @SenshiStock
Day 23-24 of #31DayArtist! Prompts: Shading black/saturated colors! I decided to practice my head planes and this is a great example of how the saturation of the shadows can completely change the mood of the piece
Aawwooo! Day 17 of #31DayArtist! Prompt: desaturated colors. Now this I'm comfortable with! I feel like I can get a lot more contrast with desaturated colors than saturated.
