IIRC, Amanirenas reigned between 40 and 10 BC. But I do have pictures of her!

And just so you know: the reason why Candace even has heterochromia to begin with is because she's literally based off of Queen Amanirenas: the one eyed queen of Kush...if Kandake was "just a title" they wouldn't have given her these traits. (Link to original art below)

My latest depiction of Amanirenas, the Kushite warrior queen who fought the Romans in Egypt and Sudan in the first century BC.

Amanirenas and the rest of the Competitors are ready to have a good time hanging out at Mars Base 7 with the rest of The Society!

You're undoubtedly speaking about the ancient Greek word "Aethiopia" ("Αἰθιοπία"), while "Aethiopioi" (burnt faced people) was used to refer to various East African folk, not always Ethiopians precisely.

Anyways, Queen Amanirenas of Kush who fought Rome is a worthy candidate:

Good on you! 🙂

Might I suggest you start by questioning why Hollywood has a perennial focus on Cleopatra instead of previous actual native Egyptian queens like Hatshepsut or Nefertiti, or for that matter Nubians of ancient Sudan like her contemporary Queen Amanirenas of Kush:

Exactly. This is tiresome when people bring up a colonial European like the Greek Cleopatra and not a native Egyptian queen like Nefertiti or Hatshepsut, let alone a black Nubian like Queen Amanirenas of Kush (Sudan) or Queen Gudit of Ethiopia.

Also, Shaka Zulu was a king! 😏

For those of you who don’t know — Amanirenas the Kandake of Kush was a one-eyed Nubian queen who ruled from 40-10 BC & took on the Roman Empire for 5 years. Also a massive inspiration for my main character ⚔️👁#WritingCommunity

I want to make a character based off of Queen Amanirenas, Nzinga Mbandi, and Queen Amina. Think about- badass warrior queen leading battles <3
