In Aristophanes' The Frogs, Dionysos goes down into the underworld to search for Euripides. The chorus is made up of (ghost?) frogs who sing Βρεκεκεκὲξ κοὰξ κοάξ (Brekekekex Koax Koax).

As barbarians, Pex and Grignr swear by foreign gods. Pex worships Triballus (a barbarian god from Aristophanes' The Birds) and Grignr proclaims "By the surly beard of Mrifk!" (a phrase directly lifted from The Eye of Argon, the story from which Grignr originated).

Plutus is the Greek god of wealth. In Aristophanes' comedy, Zeus blinds Plutus so that when he distributes his wealth & treasures he will not be prejudiced. But when Plutus regains his sight, he can then determine who is worthy, & havoc ensues.
