I added some color pencil to the reimagined "Arzach" by Jean Giraud aka "Moebius" .
@jadehabron @VIDEO199X @Herfinangle This the exact comment I was looking for! The Moebius designs were weren't that apparent in the barbarian one. But on the Pterodactyl one ,it was straight up from Arzach. And that weird bunny creature might be an 80s claymation attempt at this separate thing from Nausicaa.

The art and design of the original Panzer Dragoon (Saturn, 1995) was heavily influenced by the wordless comic book series Arzach, created by French artist Jean "Moebius" Giraud. Giraud even helped with the game, illustrating the Japanese cover art.

Jean Giraud, a.k.a., Moebius, double splash page from the story “Harzakc,” Heavy Metal, vol. 1, no. 4 (July 1977), that appeared on the cover of that same issue. It was Moebius’s Arzach stories that inspired the Taarna character and sequence in the Heavy Metal movie (1981).
I love it when I find visual connections like this.
