If you're still up just after midnight tonight, you might catch a glimpse of our next Icelandic Yule Lad. Askasleikir or Bowl-Licker, sneaks into homes in the early hours of December 17, to hide under beds and steal the bowls people put down for their dogs and cats to lick. Nice!

Yesterday the Bowl-Licker, returned home. So once again you can leave your bowls behind without fear of him coming from under the bed to swipe them away.

today Askasleikir or Bowl-Licker
makes an appearance
he is known to hide under beds waiting for someone to put down their "askur" (a type of bowl with a lid used instead of dishes), which he then steals.

this is the sixth of the 13 to visit Iceland

🌲今宵6番目は舐めるサンタシリーズ👅最後のAskasleikir/Bowl Licker。Askurというのは昔使われていた蓋付きのお椀のような木の器。昔の家は狭くベッドに腰掛けて食べていたので、Askasleikir はベッドの下に隠れ、食べ終わったお椀が置かれるのを待っていたと言われています。#サンタ
