Hi, I'm Ellie, a microbiologist studying bacteriophages. I balance and explain my research with art in the form of illustrations, figures, logos, comics, infographics, posters, graphical abstracts and cover art. I'm really enjoying your threads!

thought i'd indulge in some more oc stuff!! this is phage, a robot i designed after bacteriophages c: he is part of a manufacture line that got shut down at the last minute, hence why he's so unfinished - he acts like an animal as a result of poor ai

Thank you! I am an environmental microbiologist with a focus on bacteriophages. I draw bacteria and phages in a variety of styles

It is !

Let's start from the basics,
Do you know what are?

Take a little **hint** from the image :) and let us know ?

I draw and paint bacteriophages and bacteria. I try to put them all in my Redbubble shop! https://t.co/6m0p9dqoUD

Day 2, Wisp. The bacteriophages or phage I work with often seem like ethereal wisps, is it a bubble, dirt or phage plaque on my agar plate? So difficult to observe directly we just look for areas where bacteria have been killed.

Most effective bacteria killers of all times? Antibiotics? No, we are talking about bacteriophages of course!
This baseplate protein helps the virus to invade bacterial cells.

Hey! 😁
I'm so happy to share with you my new version of the pirates bacteriophages! I did the full drawing & a sticker + mask of the phages only 😉 !

You can find all the products with this new design on my shop (t-shirt, cushion, art print, ...) : https://t.co/ONsp9dJ9wQ

A is a virus that infects and replicates within bacteria cell. Bacteriophages are composed of that encapsulate a DNA or RNA genome, they not only replicate within the host cell but also controls the machinery of the host. Ubiquitous!

I LIKE TO DRAW THINGS THAT RESEMBLE BACTERIOPHAGES

We recently released this giant structure of the bacteriophage P68, solved by by the . Hear about how bacteriophages work in the tweet below, or view the structure at https://t.co/Z9YGZGHPVc https://t.co/8eVPw5naI6

- Roasted.
Desert water environments are dominated by particular kinds of (viruses that infect bacteria), presumably because they can handle the roasting environment and drying out better than other

Bacteriophages are pretty cool.
