With the switch to full 3D in Gen 6+7 cel-shading was utilized. The tufts of fur on the model blended into Beartic's solid colors while the black outlines utilized them for silhouettes.

Gen 8's subtler outlines and softer color blends made the tufts a bit more noticeable. (2/3)

I don't think there's a better example of the visual clash between the visual style Pokemon's 3D models were originally made for and the style they've been haphazardly tossed into this generation than our good friend Beartic and its, uh... prominent fluff. (1/3)
