They basically split Spencer into two characters-- Sparda & Mundus. The old design of Spencer is also Mundus' human form, according to Kamiya. Originally, prior to Tony Redgrave, it was going to be Leon S. Kennedy, since it was to be "the" sequel to BIO2 (named BIO2.5 once).
