OTD in 1835, George "Geordie" Ridley was born! 🎂

Geordie was a songwriter in the 19th century and is most famous for composing 'Blaydon Races' which is still sung today among North East sports fans. He has a blue plaque on the William IV pub in Gateshead. Legend! 🏆
