#MythologyMonday The Cŵn Annwn are a pack of otherworldy white hounds with red-ears from Welsh myth who can be heard running in the sky. Their growling is loudest when they are at a distance, and grows softer as they draw closer. To hear them is often seen as a death portent.
@CronajArt Aha. I got some bois.Hadrian and Kiro they're brothers. Kiro is a red-eyed Gwyllgi. Hadrian is a Cŵn Annwn.

The Cŵn Annwn were the spectral dogs of the Welsh otherworld. Associated with the wild hunt and both King Arawn and the psychopomp Gwyn ap Nudd. The howling of these hounds foretold death to anyone who heard them. #FolkloreThursday

The cù-sìth is a mythological hound from Scottish folklore. A similar creature exists in Irish folklore (the cú sídhe), & it also bears some resemblance to the Welsh Cŵn Annwn. It's said those who hear it must reach safety by its third bark or risk dying of fear #FairyTaleTuesday
Gwyn ap Nudd was a Welsh Psychopomp, the king of the Tylwyth Teg (fair folk) and ruler of the Welsh Otherworld, Annwn (believed to be underneath the earth)
He is closely associated with the Wild Hunt along with his spectral hounds (the Cŵn Annwn) #FolkloreThursday

@DeanAuthor @mattbrownauthor @bookwormswales @Eloisejwilliams Do the Cŵn Annwn count as characters? If so, they'd be my faves, because, y'know dogs... here's one I drew earlier...

Hope they show up in #TheMab?
In Welsh mythology, Cŵn Annwn were the spectral hounds of Annwn, the otherworld of Welsh myth. They were associated with a form of the Wild Hunt, presided over by either Arawn, king of Annwn, or by Gwyn ap Nudd as the underworld king and king of the fair folk.
