I like both takes. But I agree that TMNT 2012 is actually and surprisingly one of the darkest shows they did by far. You just have to see the villains mutants designs, (most of them are cool/badass but still) not to mention these are all in CGI.

Generally, intricate inorganic character designs like robots and armors are okay being 3D CGI because they're already not natural by shape so it tends to be unnoticeable in 3D CGI. So it's understandable if they would use 3D CGI for Denji's chainsaw head bcs just look at that bro

Black Summoner, dumpster fire isekai, that doesn't shake up the same old shitty formula. Slaves, OP protags, and Horrendous CGI. ED is fire song. A mindless light show at times and add a character when they need some more story. Fruity.

Just finished the Sandman on Netflix. First 6 episodes are grrreat, 5 and 6 are compelling with a great villain.

However, the Vortex storyline starting with epis. 7 is sappy kitsch with too many new characters and a messy plot and cheap CGI.

Overall, a 6 out of 10
