Was expecting a new abelisaurid, got something straight out of a spec project. Meet Jakapil kaniukura, a basal thyreophoran from the Late Cretaceous aged Candeleros Formation! For context, this thing lived alongside Giganotosaurus.

God, here at 4 am I've spent almost all day checking dinosaurs and BOOM appears this basal thyreophore the Jakapil kaniukura who inhabited the Candeleros Fm. , without a doubt, this day starts amazingly.
