Lexington the Blue Ghost!
"Hi there," her air group asked from above of the Ozawa Fleet, "Am I supposed to know you?"
She then greeted the carrier below with tons of torpedoes.
I looked up for night carrier LSO paddles and I found this.
So does it mean that Enterprise had to choose from...
"Dark side? Or the other...?"
Speaking of carrier names...
I suddenly realized that the two in the photograph became sisters...
The sailor and the ship he was stepping on, I mean.
Which also makes this picture a photo of 3 CVNs...

Portland the Sweet Pea
I've been reading intensively on TF58(38) these days. I'm astonished about Enterprise being one of the only night carriers in late pacific campaign. She must had been the most well-trained veteran to get that job!
2 ships of the Seventh Fleet.
Gambier bay was just any average escort carrier--so was her courage, since all ships in her navy shared the same spirit.

Yorktown CV-10, an optimistic young girl with her huge family surrounding her.
She looks much happier than the Old York--but she was definitely living up to her name. As a member of the fast carrier task force, she did well.
*She was also good at *stealing* jeeps from army men.
The design of USS Gambier Bay is one of my favorite. As a baby CARRIER that transports a lot of aircraft in a low speed, she is expected to be a child carrying overwhelming luggage.
And the “Be ware of propellers”.
For Indy, I decided to give her a bat box.
Saratoga 1944.
After so many battles, she reached her final shape of a modernized fleet carrier—before she was heavily wounded in 1945 and put to secondary services.
Her hair turned grey, but her eyes were still sharp.
“I’m still the home of the Hell Divers.”
