Whew, spent a lot of time experimenting with shading on this one but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Not a lot of contrast in shadows and highlights but I love how colorful this came out ^^

encephalartos horridus 鬼姫蘇鉄。何とも恐ろし気な名前を持つ小さなソテツ。南アフリカ原産のこのソテツは成長が遅く80cm程度までにしか伸びない。尖がった葉の形から鬼などと言われるけれど個性的な美しさだと思う。
