A cephalaspis scrapes down the seafloor to search for food.
Cephalaspis is an ostracoderm ( mainly called Osteotraci ) fish from the devonian period, it's name means "head shield" hence the name.
Finally got around to texturing my cephalaspis model! I'm still somewhat new to Substance Painter but I'm super proud of this regardless :D
This model is low poly which was my first mistake trying to make a "realistic" texture let me tell you
Cephalaspis
A small fish that live on the bottom of estuaries, its head shield had sensory patches that allowed him to sense both prey and predators
ALT: although it lacked a jaw it could use its head to move sand around and find prey hidden in it thanks to its long tail
Zenaspis
A jawless fish closely related to cephalaspis, it would seem that it inhabited shallow areas like rivers and fed on creatures living at the bottom of them
ALT: the plates at the sides of its head shield where sensory organs that made it able to feel movement underwater
