Erandiil's worst encounter with the undead was probably his dead gryphon he raised when he was still a Welkynar-- Halron died in the fall of Cloudrest and Erandiil raised him in grief

It was fleeting but Halron's pain taught him a lot about compassion for the souls of the dead
