April 2021 2/
After that I went looking for other existing sketches I could colour, and luckily I'd scanned up two old books, #TheCreaturesSketchbook & #PracticeMakesProgress. Rougher and never intended for digital finish, these were an added challenge, but no less fun.
Getting back to these. There were a bunch that weren't great drawings that I was vacillating over colouring or not. (I chose not to.)

Not doing a full #Mermay so coloured these from the #CreaturesSketchbook.
Further colour tweaks. It always takes me a while to arrive at subtlety.

Didn't care for the colour so changed it. I'm getting more comfortable with doing that in digital without starting from scratch.

Because it's #Mermay I skipped ahead a few pages to colour in some of these.

@RajaSen Title Page is completely coloured. The rest of the pages won't have all the figures done; I'll jut pick my favourites as I go.

@RajaSen I think the lizard was from reference & is possibly the last thing in this book that I specifically looked at reference for. Don't get me wrong, I use refs all the time, but this book was often entered early in the day when I didn't want to look at a screen.

You ever seen a picture of a baby's skull with all the extra teeth tucked in there? That's probably what inspired this. Also I really started to have fun doing the tiny heads inbetween the bigger shapes. #CreaturesSketchbook
