For July 23rd I played Mickey Mouse's
While the game ran fine, Steam seems to hate my art program so I didn't get many screenshots beyond the introduction.
I will admit, I wasn't expected the game to look this good for an early 90s platformer.

A very frustrating thing in is what a lie the controller set up is. I kept going back to controls set up to assign my gamepad buttons. It would take, it would work. As soon as I get into the game, it resets anyway.

Thankfully did stabilize after that, and I was back to making hard decisions, racing around and fumbling with overshooting my jumps.

And so we are quickly back to the adventure. Admittedly, I didn't make it much further than the 3rd or 4th stage of the game to see if the plot gets deeper as the game actually crashed on me a good 4 times during Stage 01.

The plot is both basic and kinda handed to you in the space of one conversation. Spark lost his entertaining job to a robot replica. He mad. He seek retribution.

You can hold 2 power-ups. While you have to go exploring to find some of them, they're plentiful and you CAN just whiz through the levels, there's lots of choice for how you want to play. Really liked the Knight and Mage power-ups.

Interestingly Spark has a multitude of power-ups, and more than just maybe a stronger punch or a temporary shield, and actually there were more power-ups than I recall seeing in let's plays I'd watched. Powers like fire breath, weapons like crossbows and lances.

And make no mistake, is definitely reminiscent of a game. I dunno if I'd call it a straight up clone or just a love letter to the classic games but it's still obviously of that style both on look and feel.
