Some detail shots of my latest piece, Darkspire! Something I continually struggle with as a painter is how much detail to include in my pieces. At what point am I applying brushstrokes beyond what are needed to communicate my intentions for the piece?

Darkspire, 2020. This piece was inspired by a photo of a stained glass window I took awhile ago and the flavor of Beksinki's cathedral paintings. Stained glass windows feel like they lead to other worlds, and I liked the idea of one that actually does!
