Oh, neat! Not sure if it's what you're going for here but when I was working with the Field Museum we ended up going for a simpler, remige-free tail for Deinonychus based on a specimen of Tianyuraptor

I have come to the conclusion that deinonychus may have legitimately been the worst theropod to come across. Big enough to overpower you, yet small enough to where your death will be incredibly drawn out, as you're eaten, pinned down, begging for death by bloodloss
