Now this is a show I have been impatient to explore.
The 1972 anime Devilman.
The first depiction of Go Nagai’s Classic story of war between human and demons. Which would be done also in a best-seller manga series of 5 volumes; branded as one of the 10 best mangas of all time.

I got to comment though that Arc is such a cool Getter design. It looks like Shin but appearing more organic. Along with having Shin's eyes, it even has a mouth. Also the the way the head looks gives me Devilman vibes and I love Devilman.

Joe Shimamura is just good iconic Ishinomori. The over all simple military style uniform, the flowing scarf, his iconic bangs. All of which come together wonderfully. I paired an Ishinomori piece with perhaps my favorite modernization from 009 vs Devilman.

Parasyte takes a lot of inspiration from Devilman. But I forgot that the author. Actually did create a one shot. For an anthology manga about the series. Neo Devilman. It makes me seeing that Parasyte would get the same treatment as well decades later.

Devilman Apocalypse Spoilers:
It's one of my favorite images from any story. A very subtle yet brute force heavy handed way to convey the weight that Akira Fudo carries on his shoulders as the Devilman. It's been over 20 years since I saw that OVA and I've never forgotten it.

Cyborg 009 was and still is one of my favorite animes. And I wish it got more anime and manga adaptation. Thou I will say my favorite character designs are the ones in Cyborg 009 vs Devilman. I could watch an story in that design style.
