Our approach was to have the major elements angling back into Quint(has most saturated colors) with strong diagonals while emphasizing the action around him.

Just started working on my wolf ears. So far I'm pretty satisfied with my X axis; now onto Y && diagonals.

I have piercings && ear fluffs that blend the ear in too but those will be rigged later on.

Oh! also added a hair part for when I face down :)

The eyebrows bug me in the upper diagonals, but I need a break because nothing I did made it look "right" so I am walking away for tonight 😅

The next iteration changed the structure from vertical to horizontal bands to investigate how this affects perception, and the diagonals also break the bands and create the illusion that the horizontal lines have a inclination, more so when you lower the angle they disappear.

Raw pixels and marching cubes;
The aircraft was created using realtime marching cubes preview to exploit the "sharp" diagonals that the marching cube process creates.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of editors (that I know of!) with realtime postprocessing/filtering.

Note 's impressive technique used to render the neighborhood. Try following any house or object design across the image and check the gradual angle shift. Tons of intricate details in how different diagonals are rendered w/ pixels add up to a stunning sense of perspective!
