Etruscan doorway
The Etruscans lived near Rome in the 4th century BC The most characteristic feature of Etruscan architecture is the doorway with sharply tapering sides and an overhanging lintel, sometimes represented,by a carved surround. It probably derived from Egyptian models

The word origins is Roman. Who believe everyone has a genius. Perhaps an ancestor who inspirers us, a type of guardian angel. Ancestor worship in Rome dates to the Etruscans.
Nephrite's Yōma Petasos from episode 15 is named after a type of hat worn by Ancient Greeks, Thracians, and Etruscans. Herald of the gods Hermes—Mercury in Roman mythology—was one notable wearer. #SailorMoon #SailorMoonTrivia

A double ridge helmet dated around 6thC BC, excavated from a burial in Austria. This Hallstatt type helmet was worn mainly by Celts and Etruscans and had two small hooks front and back to hold a crest between the ridges. Now in the natural history museum, Vienna.
Love this red figure vase in the shape of a helmet from the Necropoli della Banditaccia. The decoration shows Ariana and Dionysus. c.350BC @VillaGiuliaRm #archaeology #etruscans #ancientitaly #cerveteri #museums #classics
