I'm focusing on the late 17th and early to mid-18th century in Europe. I'm specialized in literature of the baroque era but do not really strive for complete historical accuracy in my art ^^

Died (but not eaten) on this day in 1598, in Frankfurt, engraver, editor & publisher Theodor de Bry. Brought images of goings-on in New World to fascinated public in Europe. Here, a delightful cannibal barbecue.

His images of Napoleon (1801-5) were the ultimate propaganda of the diminutive General on his march to being Emperor of France & conqueror of Europe. Placing Boney on a horse shows his knowledge of Van Dyck & Titian’s royal portraits of short rulers

I am going to make a story about a Black Protagonist set in fantasy Europe. He will be a citizen in a certain kingdom, coming from a minority ethnic group who settled there recently in the past decade but numbering only 0.1 percent of the entire kingdom's
population.

On this day 9 years ago, Dark Souls II was released on console in North America and in the following days in Japan and Europe. PC followed a bit later.

Have some older concept art for that occasion.

Hot take :
There were not many Japanese people living in Medieval Europe too but that doesn't stop many Japanese MCs being written into Isekai inspired fr Europe.

Because it's Fantasy, so technically a Black Protagonist can be written into Fantasy Europe marrying White Princess
