So, another silly but plausible theory of mine: GunBuster and DieBuster are set in the same universe (duh! DieBuster = GunBuster 2), but so are Gurren Lagann and FLCL.

I can tell when artists steal color palets from FLCL.

I'm definitely not going to miss the chance to plug in FLCL. I can listen to this shit on repeat

To reiterate: this is a FAN WORK! No profit is being made off of this and is not affiliated with GAINAX or PRODUCTION I.G. This is solely a fan project made to celebrate and have fun with the world of FLCL.

FLCL

Fooly Cooly. I've been wanting to talk about this lately but I couldn't find the right words. My mind has been as chaotic as this short 6 episode anime. FLCL. Fooly Cooly. Growing up kinda sucks doesn't it? Everything gets so serious all of a sudden.

Kagami Hiiragi from Luck Star has the same voice actress Haruko Haruhara from FLCL.

Tsuramaki took personal charge over localization for FLCL. IIRC, he personally approved as Harahura. He wanted cultural references American audiences could understand that still fit the tone of the series. And it turned out incredibly!

Day 15!

This one has Makima wearing Haruko's outfit from FLCL. I watched FLCL once growing up and I don't remember most of it, but I don't think Haruko is nearly as devilish as Makima. Manipulative, maybe, but not downright evil. Imagine Makima hitting people with a guitar.

incidentally
This is her name is ninamorieri.
A character from an anime called FLCL.
My favorite girl

Yeah, I'm surprised that the current trend of calling out "problematic" and "creepy" anime hasn't come for FLCL by now. Haruko's 19 and Naota's 12 and she tells him she'll teach him "how to be a man".

Turning Red probably took at least a little inspiration from FLCL. https://t.co/WgEmlfk17Q

Fooly Cooly! FLCL. I don't know many people that even know this anime existed. But I really loved it. Strange as it is. 😅

For me, it's gotta be FLCL. I love its dusky Y2K feeling and its emphasis of solid drawing in characters. It's really the perfect combination of digital and traditional techniques to create a unique aesthetic. Big inspo for KO CRISIS.

Thanks for making me watch.

Man I love FLCL. I actually don't rewatch it often because just *THINKING* about it is satisfying haha. It's stuck with me as much as any musical album or work of literature. It's just one of my favorite things ever. LOVE IT!
